The Social Issue of Paperback covers the development of the idea of design as a social concern. The approach chosen for this number took in consideration the role of the reader as an active component in the creative method. Communication it’s only a whole when it’s a sum of all its parts: designer, idea, social context and reader.
Without the reader, communication loses its purpose and meaning. In order to understand the reader’s point of view, the designer must interpret the social context and adapt his communication to its destination. Therefore, Paperback desires not only to resurrect the concerned voices of some designers but it is heartily committed in emphasizing the importance of a socially active design in the society.
